Ask for Angels
I made this CD thinking that if I fell off the face of the earth, or God forbid had to get a day job, what would I want to leave behind...how would I summarize and/or condense my experience of life, love, loss, joy, longing, crashing, falling, losing and finding, seeking, stumbling...lingering and moving on...it reflects my transition from repeating my story over and over again until I got something about it but it doesn’t tell you quite what I got about it...just that I keep growing if I want to ...that we’re loved. It also reflects an ongoing struggle on my part to remain open to God...to remain open to be opened. Whether God does the opening or we do, I don’t know...there is lots of “I don’t know” on this CD...but for those who need it, there is lots of comfort in that place. It also suggests that you can be thankful and rage, you can be thankful and sad, you can be thankful and hopeful, you can be thankful both lost and found....and all of this over and over again.

Fear
“Tell the Tale, You’ll still be the last to understand, the last to reach and take a helping hand. The last to really let it go. Safe at all? You don’t know much until you’ve seen it all. Seen loved ones turn, seen things come down that were tall. Seen worlds collide inside you. I don’t bleed, but I’ve walked a hundred miles to see your face. You do so much, but you don’t leave a trace. It makes it hard to let it go.”
Above are the lyrics to the first song called THE TALE on “FEAR” my first CD, funded by FACTOR in 1997 (The Foundation to Assist Canadian Talent on Records). Fear is 11 songs that pretty much sum up my experience of trying to face the truth of things past in order to move forward.
